Mark W. Sawicki, Ph.D.
President & CEO
Mark Sawicki has over 20 years’ business development and sales management experience. He has consistently delivered on corporate revenue and market share goals in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Sawicki was most recently the chief business officer at AAIPharma Services Corporation/Cambridge Major Laboratories Inc. He has also served in senior business development roles at CMC Biologics and Albany Molecular Research Inc. (AMRI), increasing revenue at rates far outpacing industry standards. Sawicki holds a bachelor’s in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also has a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. As well as this, he received graduate training at the Hauptman Woodard Medical Research Institute. Sawicki has authored a dozen scientific publications in drug discovery with a focus on oncology and immunology.
Senior Vice President ＆ Chief Financial Officer
Melanie brings more than 20 years of financial management experience with executive roles in transportation and distribution, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and health care. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers followed by progressively responsible roles at Continental Airlines, including an overseas assignment in Guam, and ultimately heading finance at Newark Airport. She subsequently served as CFO for Mindshare, a WPP advertising company; SPI Pharma, an international pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution company; and Lakeview Center / Baptist Health Care. Throughout her career, she has led numerous integration activities and IT initiatives, focused on improving processes and maximizing performance. Melanie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Chief Operating Officer
Phil Wilson is an accomplished supply chain executive with over 25 years of industry experience. Before joining Cryoport, Phil served as Vice President, Supply Chain for Ancillare LP. Before that, Phil was the Director of Global Operational Programs at Catalent Pharma Solutions where he managed all aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain. He holds a master’s degree in supply chain management from Pennsylvania State University. Currently, Phil is focusing his postgraduate work in clinical trial management from Temple University School of Pharmacy. He also holds multiple compliance certifications, including Transportation and Logistics by APICS (CTL) and Business Continuity Professional by the DRI International. Phil is certified by the IATA/FIATA as an Air Cargo Transportation Specialist and licensed by the United States Treasury Department as a Customs Broker.
Chief Commercial Officer
Aruna Mor is an accomplished, results-driven business executive with over 20 years of experience in the life sciences. She has extensive experience in managing and leading a comprehensive team from the top down globally, including P&L management, sales and business development, business strategy, product marketing, product management, brand strategy, go-to-market strategies, and commercialization for portfolios with over $1B in revenue. Aruna is an expert in identifying, evaluating, and executing organic and inorganic growth opportunities and developing a strategic roadmap to achieve operational, financial, and strategic goals. Aruna was most recently the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Development (Americas) at KBI Biopharma, where she was responsible for establishing and driving sales and marketing for KBI while building a world-class team to accomplish long-term business goals that drive strategic growth. Aruna holds an MBA from USCD’s Rady School, an MS in Bioinformatics from George Mason University, and an MS in Biology from India, where she also received her bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Senior Vice President and Chief Product Development Officer
Michael Dybicz brings over 25 years of experience in product, process, and strategy execution across a variety of industries. He is a hands-on analytical and entrepreneurial executive focused on creating, building, and growing sustainable companies and teams. Mr. Dybicz has a diverse background that includes developing groundbreaking advanced text analytics software as a service (precursor to Watson called WebFountain) at IBM Research. He has also provided multiple healthcare service companies with innovative models of care (SmartRoom, LivingWell, Medically Home). He has managed and run multiple boutique management advisory firms focused on management consulting. Mr. Dybicz served as interim executive, developing corporate strategies and crafting go-to-market plans across healthcare, technology, and other industries. He lived in Eastern Europe for three years, helping to run and restructure a Venture Capital Fund. While there, he established a comprehensive due diligence and financial analysis framework to relaunch the Fund. Mr. Dybicz has a bachelor’s in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A/M.S.I.A. from the Tepper School/Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie Mellon University. Today, he strives to innovate, challenge, and deploy service and product solutions that scale and create real value solving tangible problems.
Chief Technology Officer
Bret Bollinger has an extensive background in domestic and international manufacturing environments and experience in new product design and implementation. Prior to joining Cryoport, Bollinger was Director of Operations and Engineering for Triangle Brass Manufacturing. Before that, he served as a business process consultant for Cardinal Health and as operations and order fulfillment manager for Ingersoll-Rand’s Falcon Lock Company. Bollinger holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Sacramento State University.
Chief Operations Officer – IntegriCell™
Matthew Plaud is an accomplished executive with over twenty years of experience in a highly regulated environment. Currently, he is the Chief Operations Officer of the IntegriCell platform for Cryoport Systems, LLC. In this role, he is building a global network of cryopreservation facilities designed to enable the scaling of cellular therapies. Before joining Cryoport, Matthew held a series of progressively responsible roles within the SOTIO and the American Red Cross (ARC). He was the President and Chief Operating Officer for SOTIO Inc. where he designed and operated a global cellular therapy supply chain network. In the ARC, he started as a laboratory technician and spent over 17 years working in different areas of the organization until ultimately completing as the interim CEO of the Massachusetts Region. He is a graduate of UMass with a degree in Human Resource Management (Summa Cum Laude) and then went on to Eastern Nazarene College to earn a master’s of science in Management.
Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Adam Fox brings more than 30 years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device industry experience to Cryoport. In leadership positions at organizations such as Nitto Avecia Pharma Services, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Boehringer Ingelheim, Adam earned valuable regulatory and compliance experience and knowledge through his collaborative interactions with various regulating bodies. With a bachelor’s in microbiology and chemistry from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, Adam adds value by bridging quality and compliance with science.
Vice President of Global Bioservices
Rob Jones is an accomplished supply chain executive with 29 years of commercial development experience and 10 years’ experience in the blood transfusion industry. Qualified in Hematology and Blood Transfusion Medicine, he originally worked at the UK National Blood Service at the Birmingham Laboratories. He then took up a technical support role at DuPont Virology Diagnostics before moving into commercial roles at Sorvall Inc. and Kendro Laboratory Products.
Rob established and managed the first commercial biorepository in the UK in 2004, which subsequently became Fisher Bioservices UK after it was bought by Thermo Fisher Scientific. He is now responsible for the strategic expansion of Cryoport’s BioServices initiative and will oversee the introduction of a range of new services in the field of critical supply chain support.
Global Vice President, Reproductive Medicine
With more than 30 years of experience in sales and development of information technology and consulting services, John is responsible for the global expansion of Cryoport’s Reproductive Medicine vertical market. Before he joined Cryoport Systems, Mr. Phillips was with Windstream Communications where he was responsible for the development, strategic positioning, and implementation of Windstream’s Enterprise Managed Services offering. Before Windstream, Mr. Phillips acted in several leadership positions at CBIZ where he architected key business policies and alliances that accelerated strong revenue growth. Mr. Phillips began his career with Xerox Corporation where he successfully served in various business development positions. John has a bachelor’s in business from Oral Roberts University.
