How it works – a unique custom project in action.
- Client: Leading Innovator in the cell and gene therapy market
- Challenge: Needs a market-leading shipping system to transport very high-value gene therapies on dry ice
- Solution: The Cryoport Systems consulting services team along with the Cryoport Systems engineering, quality, and project management teams came together to conceptualize, design, and develop a customized dry ice shipping system. Our team focused on developing a set of market-leading shipper user requirements and ensuring all requirements met or exceeded our client’s needs. We developed and tested prototypes and eventually performed all shipper qualifications for the client, including design qualification, operational qualification (thermal performance testing – ISTA7D, physical performance testing – ASTM D4169), thermal mapping, performance qualification (shipping qualification), re-icing testing, and cool-down studies. All qualifications and testing supported client BLA filing. The Elite Shipping System exceeded all requirements and expectations on performance.
